I took avast out and so far so good not BSOD yet and windows defender is running fine, thanks will let you know if anything goes wrong.

Will do, haven't had any problems so far after the SDK installation and the update I got from asus. It's an O/S update that they put out I guess? anyway no resets all day......

Installed some updates and the windows 8 SDK and so far no BSOD but still monitoring today also.

I am wanting to upgrade to windows 8 pro but will I still have the BSOD problem that I am have with windows 8? I have reset twice and even thought about doing an exchange at the store but it's not my laptop, it's the windows 8. Is there any solution to this problem or do we just have to live...

How can i find out what key is used for the version that came with my laptop? or would I have to buy a new one.
