Make sure the receiver light is solid, not flashing, then press the sync button on the Xbox pad. When the lights start circling, press the receiver button once so that it starts flashing (don't hold the button). Do the lights stop circling when you do this or do they continue for a while after?

Okay, that's great. But what happens with the wireless receiver and your Xbox pad when you try to sync them?
