Update: I couldn't get the tiles to work after much research and attempted tweaking. Also, reinstalling 8 didn't work, so I am back on Windows 7 64 which works like a charm (pun intended). Perhaps it's just my machine. But then again, it's a very mainstream HP desktop that is only 2 years old...
