"Service Host: Local System (Network Restricted)" High CPU Usage

As soon as I start an application (Cadence Allegro PCB Designer 16.5 but I don't think it's relevant) my CPU usage gets to the roof and stays there long after I killed the application and I believe I every associated process. The CPU usage is so high that the battery will be drained after about 45 minutes (It usually last about 3 hours).

According to my task manager the responsible is "Service Host: Local System (Network Restricted)". As a matter of fact, preventing the executable from accessing the network sort of solves the issue. I don't believe I need that executable to access the network but I'd like to understand what kind of network service can consume that much CPU (was actually affraid of overheating) and to know if there's a more appropriate way to solve this. Thanks.

I'm currently uinstalled the pro version, and trying to install the

"OrCAD_16.5_Demo_CapturePSpiceOnly.exe" version,

pretty sure it might work.

Hello guys, I know the thread is old but i'm having the same ussue under Windows 8 and OrCAD Capture 16.5 Everything else runs fine but when I try to start Capture my PC hangs and I have to wait about 2 minutes to run Capture and my CPU stays at abou 99% even when I close capture and kill the process. I have to reboot my system to make it run in normal state again. I desperately need a solution.

solved it?

Hi all,

I was going crazy and this was the only place where people were at least asking about this. I think I solved it.

once capture is opened, svchost goes crazy.
closing capture doesn't fix it. It seems that it is cdsMsgServer.exe and cdsNameServer.exe

These two files are (at least for orcad 10.3) inside C:\OrCAD\OrCAD_10.3\tools\...

renaming both solved it!!!! Not sure what is their function, but now my cpu is normal and everything seems to be working on orcad
