On Windows 7 it was easy to create a system image. But, I can't find a way to do it on 8. Does anyone know how?
Also, some members have said that they like a third party utility called Macrium. Is that one better? Thanks

Free Macrium is the way to go and a lot better than the Windows native facility.

I agree. Really easy to use and is very fast. It also lets you move the backup files around with out a problem.

    That's basically it.
Macrium is good - small, fast, reliable - relatively easy to use.

Big downside - it doesn't support gpt.

I think the only free one with gpt support (REFS support, too ) is the new version of Paragon - It is not released yet, so the version they are giving out is very simple - no scheduling, just create and restore as you wish.
