High latency, clicking and image corruption with DVB tuner

Hi!

I'm suffering from high latency which is very noticeable when I watch TV with my DVB-C tuner. I have Xonar D1 audio card which doesn't help. I update drivers, but it never seems to help. I also followed some tips, from elsewhere such as disabling HPET, CPU Enhanced Halt, EIST, in the bios, which didn't improve things much, if at all. Apparently there's no way to improve the Xonar driver, I tried several versions.

Any tipp to improve latency is appreciated.
For one, why is the USB port is the worst offender? Why is SCSIPORT.sys running, when I have no SCSI devices or even connectors on the motherboard.

Here are some measurements:

How on earth is the highest hard page fault measure in the red with latency monitor when I disabled the pagefile for testing?

I suspect its something other than the Xonar. Post all 3 screens from Latency Mon.
Are you using Wi-Fi? That is a known cause of poor DPC Latency.

Also, since you have a separate sound card, disable the on-board audio in the BIOS to avoid any potential conflicts.

I already disabled the on-board audio.
Alright here's all I made for that measurement:

Remove some non essential items and then run Latency Mon again.
Items such as networx, utorrent, clock adjustment. Also do not have Firefox running (or any browser) when you run it.

Okay... Unsurprisingly, if I barely use my computer for anything the latency is lower.
The worst stuff are still mostly the same though.

USB seems to be one item. How many USB devices do you have attached?
Also, if the snipping tool is causing problems I would be looking at Windows OS.

A few: mouse keyboard, monitor's hub. Of course the tuner when I use it.

What would looking at the OS consist of?

I'm not sure what in the OS, just that the snipping tool is part of Windows. I wouldn't expect that small app to be an issue.

Please fill in the "My System Specs". Helps us to try and help you.

If your hardware (and application software) is Win 10 compatible, you should give this consideration.

I filled in my hadrware. I doubt it'll do much good.

Windows 10 is way worse than 8.1. I tried it last autumn. Got constant clicking/popping when I was just listening to music and browsing.,,,

That looks like a Gigabyte motherboard. I didn't see it listed but do you have the Gigabyte Easytune installed?

The GTS450 is a relatively old video card. I used to have a GTS450OC. I had it installed in a PC with an i7 CPU. As it turned out the built in Intel Video in the i7 3770 was better than the NVIDIA GTS450OC.

No. I make changes in the bios when needed.

The video card is not new but not as old as the CPU. :) Which doesn't have an IGP anyway.
