Solved sfc /SCANNOW successfully repaired?

My computer came from the factory as Windows 8 and then got upgraded to Windows 8.1. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and then had issues (with my flashdrives being recognized for one thing) so had a friend take a look at it and he basically installed a different version of Windows 10 over my already Windows 10 and when I ran sfc /SCANNOW it initially gave this message - Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log%WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.

Also my problem was still there so did a factory reset. After doing factory reset the sfc scan gave this message -
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations., which shows everything good. Then after some Windows updates started getting this message when ran sfc again - Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.Log%WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.

I guess I should take this as a good thing, but am a little paranoid because now it gets this message all the time and never gets the one that says no integrity violations were found. I really don't want to add a whole lot of programs until I know for sure everything is good now! Also this morning it failed on 36 updates. Sorry this is long-winded, but thought background info was necessary.

There was one update KB3022345 5-6 months ago that caused some file corruption and when uninstalled everything was good again. I you have installed this update you might consider uninstalling it.

Thanks for responding KYHI and gator2013! I am still working on resolving this issue. Gator2013 do you think it would be wise to just remove almost all of my Windows updates for now and run the scan again and see if it comes up like it was - Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations? I just ran the scan again and it did say it found corruption, but fixed the stuff, but I didn't get this message all the time until I did the updates. Btw I don't see that particular update listed that you mentioned. I had thought maybe I might just uninstall almost all of the updates and then install one by one?

I wouldn't bother looking for KB3022345 cause it was likely fixed and re-released with a different number as it did cause a boat load of problems first time.

The good news is that Sfc /scannow is correcting the problem at least for now. Have you run Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth ? If not, I would run that to make sure that function is still working. If it completes it will tell you that all things were repaired even if there was nothing to fix but if it shows any errors there may be other issues. I would run Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth firstbefore uninstalling any of the updates.

I have ran the sfc/ scannow and also the dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and the latter of the two says everything's ok, but the sfc /scannow keeps telling me it found corrupt files, but fixed them? Was wondering what I should do next and if you think installing some Windows updates will fix it? I have for now shut off the updates because actually feel some of them is what started the problem.

See if you have KB3068708 installed and if so see if you can uninstall it.

Did you make a restore point before you started installing updates?

Yes I have a few restore points and had thought about that option. Also no I don't have that particular update installed or pending.

Both updates I cited were known to cause false positives for file corruption and that still might be what you have. You might try going back to some of your restore points to see if that fixes the problem but other than that I think starting over with your updates if you have the time and want to go through the process again. If it were me I would go back to the earliest restore point and run Sfc /scannow and see if it comes back clean. Regardless of how you approach it only reinstall the security updates at first as I don't recall any security updates ever causing these types of problems only some of the optional ones.

The good news is that both Sfc /scannow and Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth are working so I don't believe you have serious issues.

I hate to go back to a restore point at this time because I would have to reinstall MS Office and I no longer have the product key, Do you think there would be any issues uninstalling updates until I get the sfc scan to show no integrity violations first? I figure if that doesn't work for some reason then go back to a restore point?

No I haven't tried that at all because it mentions that you have to insert Windows setup media (mounted ISO, etc) which I do not have.

Do these instructions also work for Windows 10 because since posting I have tried to go back to Windows 10 and initially it said it couldn't find any integrity violations, but now says it found corrupt files and some of them it cannot fix and also I don't understand how this could be because I haven't changed anything in the system since I upgraded and the first initial sfc scan came up good?

have you tried this ???
It also creates detail txt reports you can upload to forums.. so other can see your errors..

Ok so I just downloaded your tool and ran options 1-3 and then 8. Initially on the dism command it said something about couldn't find source files so went to option 3 and apparently it found my source and then said repaired, but then option 8 and said found corruption, but successfully repaired. How can I get back to good message of it not finding any integrity violations? Btw here is my text file that got saved to my desktop from running your program.

It appears you have a Nvadia Video Card

Repairing corrupted file [l:23 ml:24]"\??\C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64"\[l:10]"opencl.dll" from store

this is the Known and Common Issue you are having...
That > opencl.dll < is a known issue all through the windows 10 forum...

NV over-writes the MS file and SFC re-writes the MS file..
Your video card needs the NV file - so SFC will always report that MV file as corrupt - until MS and NV get on the same page

And yes, image_health works on windows 10 with windows 10 media

Well so far so good. Ran sfc /scannow with regular command prompt (administrator mode) normally and in safe mode and both times got that it couldn't find any integrity violations. I don't have a Nvidia card, though - I have an Intel one. Do you think it's safe now to go ahead and load the rest of the programs I want to put on my computer now? I just made a restore point btw. Thanks for your help btw.
