My computer freezes/hangs at about 3-4 times per month. After that I have to hold the power button, turn it off and turn it on back again. Event logs say KERNEL POWER EVENT ID 41.
"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."
No dump files are created.
So I would like to fix that annoying issue for good. I have been trying to let it go but I can't stand it anymore.
Would it be software or hardware related? Can we pin point the issue? I don't mind buying knew parts, just need to get this done.
Windows 8.1 Pro
Crucial M500 SSD 256GB
AMD 7970 vapor-x
2x 8GB corsair vengeance RAM
The processor is OCed a bit, so is the GPU. Those hangs are way too random though and I have stress-tested for stability. Problems occur even when pc is running cool and with no intensive apps. I've reinstalled windows once a good while back but the problem continued.
I do have a feeling that it has to do with SLEEPING. Might be a coincidence but the pc seems to run fine if I keep turning it off and on instead of just sleeping. Could it be that something is being written in a wrong way everytime it sleeps?
Logs are attached.
