I was given a rundown HP 2000-2b19WM laptop to try and fix. The problem is when it boots up past the windows logo screen it just stays a blank screen and eventually the mouse cursor shows up. I left it sitting over night still never fully booted up. I've followed all of the HP troubleshooting steps. I've removed battery held down power button plugged ac adapter in turned back on and nothing. I've reseated the memory sticks. I've ran the startup fix and says it can't repair problems. I also ran sfc /scannow in cmd prompt and it fixed some errors. I would factory restore the computer but I don't have the reset dvds nor does the person that owns the laptop. Is this a driver issue ?
Oh my gosh im having the exact same problem when i turn my laptop on i get taken to a blank screen with only my cursor and just like u i dont have a usb or a disk/dvd and ive tried the battery method as well its hopeless there must be a soloution or were screwed :•/
axe i may have a soloution (this worked for me) you should do a system restore which should restore ur windows back to normal after the system restore i managed to get onto my laptop normally and pretty much 0 problems
To do a system restore from the black screen ur ganna have to find out the buttons u click to get into ur troubleshoot menu from there u click troubleshoot advanced settings then system restore. The buttons u click vary for each type of computer for example i have an acer so i click fn and f5 but since ur brand is different grego urs probably wont be the same.
But what if it happens again and there are no (working) restore points?
Also naatashaax, if you don't already have created one, create as soon as possible a bootable rescue media.
