I think Auslogics booster is the tool you may be looking for.. but be very careful the way you use it.. they have a marketing team that created that program with the concept of "make them feel like they have to do this and that" with their program and the way it tells you things and tries to get you to believe you have to do their way of tweaking.. but the thing is, it actually does have some of the usual correct tweaks users do to get that squeeze of performance out of their systems..

I don't know what you really are trying to achieve though? is it just for browsing the internet or for watching movies or trying to edit the latest most crazy high quality videos? or recording music?

Honestly, things like Stress Tests maybe .. I'm thinking more along how Hardcore Gamers test their systems.. so maybe head on over to here and look at "realbench" haha Downloads - Republic of Gamers

However, in Windows 8.1 Microsoft has partially dropped this feature and it doesn’t appear in Computer Properties.

but

UPDATE: We recommend you check out our 3 free tools to get Windows Experience Index in Windows 8.1 guide to know all three free tools out there to get the missing feature in Windows 8.1.

Welcome back Micro, would not use third party applications to do this, cause more bad then good. Can make changes in settings of Windows itself to optimize it for better performance. First check here if this was what you meant by Automatic tasks, not sure. Use System Diagnostics too.

Few articles showing ways within Windows to improve performance, but as we know other ways is to improve on hardware.

Similar for Win 7 as for Win 8.1, do not worry about it saying 7 here.

See you have a HDD, a SSD will improve speeds in read and write in Windows as the OS disk, more RAM i am not sure how high can go but 8GB is good enough for apps and games. Processor looks fine, as we know see in articles startup and running services limit them as much as you can, Windows experience index just give you a number rating ...read some more here...

Thanks.

Yea, I think the hard drive issue has been fixed. I bought a new wifi adapter and I've not had the issue in the last 48 hours

How was Hard drive problem fixed ? Seemed all test you did were not good, chkdsk could not even run. Just asking about performance and one of your key elements (HDD) was possibly failing. Last time posting on other thread was a week ago, so how did you cure it ?

Still kind of wonder how it caused that.

You know that was beginning of your last thread installing i believe a driver for Network adapter, we questioned it, but you did not seem to think it was the cause, but at beginning of that thread, i thought it was a possibility since afterwards this had happened. Still kind of wonder how it caused it then, just bad adpater.

Yea it was bad, downloading at 1.5 mb/s (instead of upto 12.5mb/s) and large downloads kept corrupting

This one ! Just realized you saying 2 computers for this post. Performance improvements can be done in Windows settings itself, optimizing settings or better hardware, as for third party software just need cleaners like CCleaner, rest of maintenance can be done in Windows 8.1.
