Help Evaluating My Personal Backup & Storage Plan

Hello everyone. I am not an IT pro, but recently put together this proposed, personal system image and data backup plan for a couple of computers in my home. The laptop has two 240GB SSDs (1 OS, 1 Data), and the desktop has a 256GB SSD (OS drive) and 1TB and 2TB data drives. I also have an external 2TB and (as of today) external 6TB HDD. These are both connected via USB3 when needed. I keep the 2TB drives synced with my video files using SyncToy. This allows me to take the external drive on trips so that I can work on videos while on the road.

I do a lot of video work and a big chunk of my data is videos or video production related files (audio, jpg, png, etc. etc). My current storage requirement for these files is around 640GB.

The only part of the proposed plan that is not in place yet, is the unlimited Cloud storage. I've been looking at Crashplan for this purpose but want to do some more research first.

If you have experience and insight in to this topic I would appreciate any feedback on my proposed plan.

    This Dell XPS 8100 was transplanted in to a Corsair 200R mid-tower case in June 2015; The only Dell remnants are the motherboard and cpu, which will be upgraded some time in the future...
For some using on-line backup doesn't work well because it takes a long time to upload (and restore) large amounts of files - as you probably have working with video editing.

Plus there was a story in the news recently about a on-line storage site claiming to have off-site storage and multiple locations for backuping up customer data but in fact did not, and lost their customers data when hackers got in and demanded ransom then discovered storage site techs trying to remove hack - at which time they erased all the customer data.

I like the external storage options (NAS) and you can store the drives off site if your concerned about fire/etc.

Yes, CB, you're right, I do have some very large video files. It looks like it might be worth it to do some more research on these on-line, unlimited storage sites. I had not heard about the incident that you mention. I'll look deeper. Might look more in to the NAS storage option, too.
