Solved Error 0x8078000C on Windows 8.1 Pro Image Backup

I tried to save a new image of the OS drive to an external SSD. Hasn't been a problem before, but I'm still setting up so I may have made some changes unintentionally affecting the success of this operation. I was unable to delete the earlier BU image this time (delete did not appear on the context menu), so I just reformatted the drive (NTSF). The OS drive (C) is Bitlocker encrypted, the BU disk is not.

The BU window appeared for about 30 seconds, then the error window, "The specified backup storage location is invalid (0x8078000C)". I Googled this error code with no results.

TIA!

Fixed. I had unknowingly had Group Policy set to write-protect non-encrypted external drives.
