stuck at scanning and repairing boot at 11% andforced quit

Started an avg tuneup disk doctor program which asked for a restart of my laptop. After 1 hour it just got over 11%and seemed to stuck. Forced shutdown my hp laptop. Should I go for next restart scan or make a factory reset.how much time will the next restart scan take.

did your hard drive making problem or something for which you scan it.?
if not then don't bother doing any scaning. but if there is some problem on hdd and the software behavior like this then it must be some bad sector on your hdd. try some other apps like partition magic etc.
