ok, yesterday I started using McAFee total protection when my Norton ran out. when calling their help line I was redirected to
the same people I think called me claiming to be Microsoft. but they were part of MacAfee so I let them in and they showed me the same thing I was shown the last time when I called. that is when I got rid of them and deleted the software they used
to get into my computer.

now MacAfee says if the PC get infected they will have it removed for almost $90.00 BY THE VERY PEOPLE THAT I HUNG UP ON. now these people showed me there were places in the PC with overseas email addresses, including one from Russia.
now those I did see. they also showed me where several of my programs are turned off. and they wanted $89.99 to fix the problem.

so how do I get down into the part of the computer they were in so I can see for myself if what they showed me is really there, and if so anywhere to go that can be trusted. the people on the phone are in India and very hard to understand.
if what I saw is really there, something does need to be done.

If you let them in then it is time for a clean install to get rid of the baddies that may be there.

This happened to me several years ago when I was not very savvy with computers. I just completely re-loaded my OS software and started from scratch. For me it was well worth the little bit of hassle for the very valuable lesson.
