Cannot adjust Task Scheduler when to run.

I have a MCE PC just to be a DVR, nothing else. I am tired of it being on so much when nothing is recording. I am trying to get tasks to run less and the Task Scheduler will not let me.

I open the task
Go to triggers tab
open the daily trigger
change from daily to weekly (may try monthly down the line)
Select Monday
hit ok

Task Scheduler service is not available. Task Scheduler will attempt to reconnect to it.

Any ideas how to get it to change it?
