Solved Performance Report error

Trying to perform an Admin Command Prompt ie- perfmon /report, I get an unobtainable response, see attachments.

Having used option 1 to give me full permissions. again without success.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Sometimes you have to try a couple of times, it can be the system is performing background maintenance and permon will be temporarily blocked from generating a report, it even happens in Windows 7 when certain DLLs are in use from another program(such as UXthemers)

Many thanks Brink for the info, but the real reason for my concern is Why was the performance report blocked in admin command prompt?
For many years I have built my own desktops and each computer was named in my case "Computer with my name"
Having now bought an MSI Gaming laptop it would appear that they have full permissions on my computer. ie- Computer MSI.
This I find somewhat disturbing, is there anyway I can obtain full permissions and at the same time stopping MSI from doing the same.

You could try Tweaking.com Windows Repair and reset permissions:

I don't think it's a permissions issue, but more of it just not being able to using that method.

Was it able to run using the method in the tutorial instead?

Yes indeed Brink which is why I thanked you in my last post with a thumbs up..

I'm not sure what you mean by the MSI has full permissions with "Computer MSI". Do you mean for the computer name or just a user account they had setup by default? Could you give some more details on that?

An MSI user account they had setup by default.

Yeah, that would just be a default administrator account they setup for you to use to set up your own user accounts and such from.

Just to be clear, are you able to run your command from the first post here successfully in that account? It shouldn't.

Do you mean my account or the MSI account?

If you mean the MSI account I would not know how to find it, all I know is whenever I try to delete for example all leftovers of an uninstalled AV installation MSI informs me access denied.

Yep, I meant the MSI account.

That would be normal when you try to delete protected system files like that since you do not have access rights by default to do so.

If you like, you could use the built-in Administrator account when you need to perform actions like that. It's an elevated account that has unrestricted access.

May I refer you to my opening post, ie- Option 1 taken from your above link, certainly not unrestricted access as shown in my attachments.
Please correct me if I have misunderstood.
Once again Brink thank you for your assistance.

Sorry, I didn't know if you actually signed in to the built-in Administrator account, or just opened an elevated command prompt. This wouldn't be the same, so I was just making sure that you tried while signed in to the actual account.

Either way, I don't think it'll work unless you run the performance report using the method in the tutorial instead.

As a follow up to your above tutorial, another way to obtain the above report.
Control panel, System and Security, Administrative Tools.
Right click on wanted app and choose open. see attachment.

Yeah, that's another good way to open Performance Monitor (perfmon).
