Hello I am Sheldon for some reason when I play games like titan-fall, BF4, arma 2, really any modern game.(some modern games dont freeze as frequently as others) I can play for a few minutes but then my computers disk reaches 100% then freezes for a few minutes then stops freezing and then it works just fine for a few more minutes and so on. I would be cool with it if the processes matched up with the 100% but it does not. it could be at 100% but only be writing 50 MB/s and reading 20 MB/s (not exact numbers) I do not see that reaching 100% on the hard drive I have. My computer specs will be below for you to see and thanks for the help.

My computer specs

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4440 CPU 3.1GHz
RAM: 8 GB

Hey mate, I recently had this problem on a client. I removed some PUPs (basically malware, but not classified as such) and it went back to normal. Install malwarebytes (.org) malware remover, update it and use the scanner, and remove all that it finds. This is a highly recommended product, and it won't interfere with your current antivirus product.

If after that, you still experience problems, let us know!

I believe the tutorial mentions it, but startup programs are a big drain, and going through your programs list and removing everything you don't use can only help.

Check the disk for errors. Some disks just eventually fail. But it should honestly be fine to play any game on. It mostly just effects load times, not so much gameplay

I don't really know if your disk is failing. But even new things can be defective. There are 3rd party disk checkers, but the windows one is fairly good. You can also open task manager to see what else is causing the disk to reach 100%. There are people with specific skills in working with hdd problems. I'm not proficient in troubleshooting hardware issues. I'm no expert, but I am fair at troubleshooting software issues.

Also be aware that many 3rd party antivirus programs are known to dramatically slow a system down... See if that is the case for you

well seance nothing seems to be fixing my problem I am going to assume my hard drive is about to kick the bucket so I was wondering if you know what specs should a good gaming hard drive have. I know nothing about hard drives.

SSDs have better load times, but generally, hard drives don't effect anything else. Intel has some of the best SSDs, but they're also more expensive.

Here is a review on some SSDs: Best SSDs of 2015 - Solid State Drive Comparison Charts
If you want to spend less, just get an HDD. RPM speeds and read/writes are what you focus on (higher is better). Get one that does about 7,200RPMs and you'll be fine.

To sum up, SSDs are faster, but the only real thing they help in-game is faster load times. They also cost more. Best of luck!

You might consider creating a system image to put to your new HDD or SSD. Create from the old HDD: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/8956-system-image-create-windows-8-a.html
Here is how to recover the image to the new: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorial...overy-restore-image-computer-windows-8-a.html

An easy way to find out would be to remove the card and any software or drivers you installed with it. I have never heard of such a thing happening, but who knows (especially problems with software).

afterwards, put the card back in and go to Nvidia's website to get the latest drivers for the specific card.

What did your task manager have to say about disk usage? For example, see mine below:

Your Memory (RAM) is reaching 53%+. It could be your HDD is running a large paging file.

As in this tutorial I posted earlier, you could add more RAM, or add an SSD, and move the paging file over to it (since it is faster than an HDD), or reinstall Windows 8 onto an SSD instead of an HDD. All of this costs money, however.

To focus a bit on the memory, try disabling Kaspersky to see if it helps in limiting Mem usage while playing games. That includes other programs that you could exit, such as chrome, adobe, steam, onedrive, etc.

Go through the optimization tutorial again and focus on things you could do to speed things up. Other than that, I would say it is performing normally, or as well as it can at the moment. The more programs you remove (that you don't use), the less likely they will take up Disk or Memory usage.
