My windows 8.1 Asus laptop won't completely turn on

Okay so it all started this morning when I was watching some YouTube videos, I realised my keyboard wasn't working and my cpu usage was at around one hundred percent. so I decided to do a reboot. Now it won't go to the lock screen where I put In my password...

So after the loading screen it would normally go blank for a few seconds and load the windows 8.1 login screen. But it's staying at the blank screen, Help

Computer specs:
Asus Vivobook s550cm
8gb Ram
Intel i5-33317u quad core cpu 1.8ghz
Nvidia GeForce 635m 2gb DDR3

I can't remember for certain, but I think my friend had an Acer laptop, that had a similar problem a while back. I think he did the following;

  1. Disconnect the AC adapter.
  2. Gently insert a paperclip in the battery reset

hole on the bottom side of your ultrabook.
  3. Reconnect the AC adapter, and resume normal use.
It cleared the problem up.

since there is not a whole lot of info to go on here besides a blank screen. how long you leave it blank? any messages or anything? on battery or power cord? any flashing lights or beeping?

okay I just realised that I see some of the icons that would normally be on the login screen like the wifi on the bottom left, they are just flashing, I left it on for hours and no difference, when I press F8 to enter something on startup it says :
it goes to a blue screen that says "Your PC needs to be repaired A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed . Error code: 0xc0000185

Ps I don't have a recovery media as windows 8 was pre installed

I cannot create the media as the only other computer I got is windows xp and the media creation tool can only be run on 7 and above

After a lot of goggling, apparently this not an uncommon problem with ASUS laptops.
It seems Error code: 0xc0000185 means it can't acces a device on the machine
cause maybe
bad part
disconnected cable, etc
corrupted file

The number one fix, was to try and do a system repair on boot up. It says to press F8 on start up, if it can't boot it should try to do an automatic repair.

There are numerous methods in which to repair

Did you make a recovery disk? If so you may need to re-install. Don't computer problems drive one crazy?

The error code is what I get When press F8, anyways I managed to get a windows 7 laptop and I'm currently making an installation media

Interesting, you said that is when you first noticed it, "keyboard problem", makes me wonder if you have a stuck key, or the keyboard driver got corrupted, something like that. In any case, good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

googling says it is usually a memory problem
