I recently needed to kill a "SYSTEM" process in task manager, but of course "Access Denied".
It was ekrn.exe or Eset Service, I don't know how it got in there I haven't even installed any of their products.
I tried ending the process, tried through Command Prompt, but nothing worked.
So I ended up uninstalling Nod32(Which IDK how it got in my computer).
I am wondering, If I am an administrator of the PC why do I not have complete control?
I really want to kill those SYSTEM processes and they aren't even SYSTEM sometimes like this case.
Is there any way to kill them?

How could you not know haw such a program can be installed by "accident" ? Oh well, how did you uninstall NOD32 ? AVs are notoriously difficult to uninstall cleanly so there's a tool to uninstall particular one. This one is for NOD32: ESET Removal Tool - ESET uninstaller Tool (Direct Download)Tech Support All
Alternatively, you could go to Services in Management and set it on disabled if it exists there.
Search > services > Wiev Local Services, see if there's Eset service and disable it.

Hi there.

As in all these things - ALWAYS HAVE BACKUP - then if for some reason the computer doesn't seem to work properly it's only a matter of at the most around 30 mins to restore a decent backup image - with an SSD it can be as short as 10 mins !!.

I DO NOT TRUST any VIRUS removal software -- especially if the computer is infected in the first place --NONE of these are ever 100% certain to work --they might seem to or give a 100% "All clear" - but can you really believe that -- after all if the AV software was 100% effective in the first place you wouldn't have got infected at all. !!!

Keep the OS in its own partition AND Take Backups regularly.

Cheers

Anti Virus and other system processes often take special precautions against being terminated. Malware will often attempt to kill known AV processes and they need to protect themselves. It is not unusual that Task Manager fails to terminate them. In any event the process will be back at the next reboot, if not sooner.

Most of the time they are triggered by a service which would have to be shut down first.

I disabled it first before uninstalling it.
The service was ekrn.exe.
