Solved Recreate regular & idle maintenance tasks

Hi Folks,

Hope someone can really help me out here, I had the idle & regular maintenance tasks disabled but they always re-enabled themselves. In a fit of madness I ended up deleting them but now when I open a folder with videos or images the thumbnails always display in a slow staggered way every time from left to right, If I then exit the folder & go back in they do the same again. It's almost like they are not being cached at all & are having to be redrawn every time.

The only change I have made to my system is remove Comodo firewall & install Private Firewall & delete the idle & regular maintenance tasks.

I was wondering if some kind soul could post screenshots of those tasks & the settings for them so I could recreate the tasks to see if help with the thumbnails as this is starting to drive me up the wall. Or export their tasks so I can import them.

Attached is a screenshot of my task scheduler tasks.

Many thanks in advance :)

@caperjack I don't use System Restore & have it disabled, forgot to make a Reflect free backup before I deleted them.

@DavidE Many thanks for the zipped xml's, have imported them but still seem to be one short by looking at your screenshot. Any chance you could upload the manual maintenance as well?

Many thanks for the replies :)

I have Windows 8.1 64bit system on my laptop and went back to 8.1 from Windows 10 upgrade, but I have missing the four standard Maintenance task xml files, Idle Maintenance, Maintenance Configurator, Manual Maintenance and Regular Maintenance. Tried SFC scan with no help. Can someone upload these files? Thanks.

Thank you for responding. Yes, they imported find, but the other file, Maintenance Configuator, was not included. I have searched the web for a solution to this problem and I even tried using the DISM program with no success. Why Microsoft has not come up with a solution to this rollback problem, especially, since sooo many people are writing about it I can't understand. Some even write about it happening in Win 10 after the upgrade.
Thanks again for responding.

Thanks DavidE

Thanks for posting the Maintenance Configuator task file for Win 8.1. I imported it into my Task Scheduler along with the other three tasks and it all works fine. I am sure there are many others who will benefit from your uploads as well.
Thank again!

Hello DavidE,
Thank you for uploading the Maintenance Configurator Task Scheduler file. I imported it into my computer and it works great. You are going to help a lot of Win 8 & 8.1 users with these files. I could not find them anywhere on the web, SFC/DISM retrieval or from Microsoft, com.

Thanks again!
