I've been having an issue with system hanging and freezing for minutes at a time for some unknown reason, and am looking for help in solving it as it has been bugging the crap out of me for months now. Here's a image of what happens:

The system will hang and wont respond to any commands while this is happening, and it does this every few hours.

I have disabled the Superfetch service but to no avail

Specs if it helps:

I run my laptop with no pagefile and it only has 8 gig of RAM. No issues that I know of. No nag screens or warning messages etc. It has two SSD drives so (IMHO) it isn't going to impact performance. You have 16 GB of RAM so if I were you I'd test with no pagefile just to see what happens. You can always turn it back on.

Maybe running-

sfc /scannow

Then-

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Then-

sfc /scannow

again & restarting would help.

All in administrator command prompts.

edit--- Watch the video in this post if you need help with the commands-

http://www.eightforums.com/general-support/50610-computer-won-t-play-videos-sounds-please-help.html

This brought up something, saying that CBS.log was a corrupt file, after doing the commands the file was replaced and the freezing hasn't happened so far, will update again if it happens, thanks

Is there a reason to run sfc /scannow twice?

Is there a reason to run sfc /scannow twice?

I run it twice to make sure everything is fixed. :)

I just let it run in the background or when I go to bed or out somewhere.

Freezing seems to have gone but another problem has appeared. All of my 16gb's of RAM is being used by something that doesn't appear? Tried upping the pagefile and it didn't fix it. Going to do a virus scan now.
