I just bought my girlfriend a new laptop, it's a toshiba C50, I've installed all the windows updates so it's now running on 8.1 but it's running ridiculously slow the spec is as follows

AMD E series E1-1200 dual core processor
1.4GHz processor speed
2GB Ram
500GB hard drive

Graphics spec is as follows
AMD Radeon HD8210 Graphics Card.
I could really do with some help on getting it running smoothly as she likes to play Facebook games and it's taking a good few minutes for th to load up and it's lagging pretty bad

Hi carlnw1975 and welcome to the forum! From what I see there are at least 5 different models of the C50 so would help to know which one you have. Also 2GB of RAM isn't much these days. Sometimes it also takes the system awhile to catch up after upgrading. If you go to Task Manager is there a lot of CPU and memory usage?

I've had a look at the task manager and it was showing flash player running high as well as mutiple other processes which wasn't using much. I'm tempted to see if I can exchange it for something with a better RAM.thanks for the reply popeye

Yea, between the dual-core processor and 2GB Ram I don't think it will ever be the speediest machine.

Those internet based games depend on internet speed too, specially if Ping is high.

Oh wow, I missed that little fact at the end of his post. Very well could be his internet connection more than his system specs.

It's not my internet connection, it all works fine on my laptop and xbox live. I've got a spare 2GB ram stick from a knackered laptop so I'll pop that in and see if bumping it up to 4GB helps improve the prof ordnance when I get in from work.
Just as a question what would u guys go for as regards for a ram upgrade? Just wondering if going larger than 4GB would be worth a shout

Not a good idea to install a mismatched ram stick. Probably would not work anyway.

As far as ram upgrade, it all depends on what the computer is upgradable to. Check your specs.

It should be at least of same frequency, voltage and latencies as old one. Because of poor BIOS options in laptops, it's more difficult to make too different memories work together.
