Does Performance Recorder work in 8.1?
I am trying to analyse boot performance using this tool on 8.1 Pro.
Windows Performance Analyzer
I have already updated to the latest version of ADK but after rebooting it fails. I have Windows 6.3.9600 Build 9600 and Performance Recorder version 6.3.9600.16384(winblue_rtm.130821-1623) which I downloaded yesterday from MS.
Can anyone run this on 8.1 or do I have some incorrect version?

Not sure - the change icon was greyed out so I'm downloading the whole lot again. I have 8.1.Upddate (or 8.1.1 or whatever you want to call it).
We will see but the link looks good.
I wish the installer took care of your Windows version as I thought I installed the latest last week.
I appreciate your input - I had almost given up on it really but I would like to run a trace of boot as mine has got slower for no obvious reason.

Will be tomorrow - still on 23% downloaded after 30 minutes (and I only wanted PE and performance toolkit). It is terribly slow.
I will let you know though and thanks.

One day. I doubt I'd understand the output even if it worked anyway.
Thanks anyway. I'll plug away at it slowly.

Edit#2: Can the recorder run over a boot? That would be sweet. Guess I'll try it.
That is what I was trying and it failed - see the first print above for my set up of the analyser. It would be interesting information (if it works). Please, if you can, give it a go.

Didn't work for me either. It rebooted automatically, ran for two minutes after reboot then failed:
There was no log file created anywhere that I could find. Should have been under

I can't find anything useful via a Google search on this. I wonder what the error message means? If we could figure that out maybe then we could get this to work.
