How can I intentionally force a program to stop responding

Hallo, I have been trying to find a way to force a process to become "Not Responding" for troubleshooting purposes, but I have not been able to find one. I have also been unable to find anyone on the internet who is trying to do the same thing as I am. Basically, does anybody know of a way I can intentionally stop a process from responding? Thanks in advance!

Windows considers a process as "not responding" when it hasn't processed messages for more than 5 seconds. As a general rule applications should never do this. I don't believe there is any general way to force this. Any method would be process specific.

Edit: I suspended notepad with Process Explorer but Task Manager did not report it as not responding. Apparently suspended processes don't qualify.
