OK ill try to provide with as much information as I can. Ill describe my desktop. Its an amd Quad Core phenom...8GB RAM...SSD (OS) WD black (User Folders) for past week or so ive been having an extremly long boot. Anywhere from 10-20 minutes to boot up. Once im in everything seems to be ok. I just had to replace my WD drive about a month ago and I did a clean install at that point and everything was fine. I would just rather do another clean install but my wife is taking online classes & I cant have any down time for her....
I thought my problem was related to MBAM PRO 2.0 upgrade so I disabled that along with EVERYTHING else in my start up. Even went as far as to uninstalled AVAST! & MBAM but it didnt change. I just installed a new version of MYMovies.dk and I thought maybe that was it so I uninstalled it but that didnt seem to do the trick either. Ive ran a full scan with CCleaner but issue remains.
I started messing around with process monitor and I turned on boot logging. My first log showed hiberfil.sys as my first process and it took like 8 mins before it moved on to the next thing. so I disabled the hibernation. That process is gone now but long boot time still. I have some more logs fro process monitor but honestly i dont know what all most of it means. I dont know if anyone is familiar with that program but let me know which format I should post some logs with and maybe you can determine from that what it might be.
Ive tried sfc /scannow and it does say that it didnt fix all the problems it found so i would reboot and try it again and did that 3 times. I also scheduled a chkdsk /r in command prompt. as well as doing a scan within Windows it self on the drive. I used crystal disk info to check status of my drives and they all appear fine according to that program
Im not sure what other info i could tell you all that would be relevant. Thanks in advance!
