Playing with my Bios

Specs are listed where specs go.

I have been playing with my settings, always wanted to, never had time or the courage.
For some reason, with my motherboard if I enter "ez Mode" and hit "Optimal, I get blue screen on boot and a constant boot loop.

So I asked this guy who knows a guy and he said the following.

go to extreme tweaker tab, set the AI Overclock Tuner to manual, sync all cores and set the cpu core ratio to 41, press enter, and cpu core voltage to 1.20v, press enter

So I did, I also set the ram to 1866.
Then I tried 42@1.20v
Then 43@1.25v
The temps look fine.

Results



Seems to be pretty stable. I tortured it with a few 1Gb Photoshop files, and overloaded it with actions, it held out really well. Played Battlefield 3 .. really badly .. etc

So now I would like to go up, just because I'm curious. But I don't know the increments of core ratio to voltage.

Can anyone help or point me to some kind of table?

from what I did gather, to go to the next step, I could try setting to 4.5@1.35v
there was mention of a 5.0 Ghz but im on air cooling and my money tree needs water

Do you mean your PC or your house? They work pretty well if the latter.

Watch your temps, but I wouldn't go for more than 4.5 on air. You could try lowering the vcore and checking for stability to keep temps down.

That can happen if you aren't careful. Over on seven forums we have a bunch of guys OCing, we even have a club. Post there and you can get some great advice from some very good members.
