Only been running this system for about a week. It says Optimization not available but it also says it ran on C: yesterday.

It didn't say this when I originally installed Windows and ran winsat formal. I just noticed last night that it was no longer available.

SATA controller is in RAID mode for my secondary drive, drivers for the AMD 990 chipset are up to date.

Besides the fact that SSDs do not need optimization (Defragmenting) like HDD if left on auto, only Trim will be activated when needed in cooperation ith windows and SSD's firmware, no user intervention needed as you can see that it was already done automatically.
Do you have the SSD on different controller than the other disks in RAID. By general rule SSD should be on first controller and in AHCI mode, not all combinations enable TRim in RAID mode.

Ok, basically I was wondering if this was normal behavior and from your reply it sounds like it is for this drive.

From what I can see TRIM is enabled on the system via checking Disabledeletenotify = 0 and AS SSD benchmark. I just wanted to make sure this behavior was normal, as the SSD on my Surface 2 doesn't say Not Available.

Don't worry, Trim is the only connection between OS and SSD whose FW does all the work with Garbage collection, block moving and optimizing.
