Solved CustomRefresh.wim - do I need it

I was wondering what would happen if I deleted the CustomRefresh.wim. If I make frequent images, do I really need it. I understand the mechanics of the .wim, but on my little Transformer it eats SSD space on my little 30GB SSD. So I could free up some space.

If you delete the custom refresh image, then Windows will just do a default refresh instead when it can't find the custom one.

It would be better to deregister the custom refresh image before deleting it though.

Since you make separate images, then you really don't need a custom refresh image unless you would like to have it as an extra backup incase something should happen to the other image.

Thanks Shawn. That's what I thought. On a very small SSD one is always struggeling for space. I think that is one way of gaining some space.
I think I expressed myself a bit unclear. I really meant the default Refresh.wim and not necessarily the CustomRefresh.wim. But in terms of space that amounts to the same - I think.

I don't have a default Refresh.wim file.

Where is it at in your system?

LOL, ok. I was thinking that I may have missed something.

I do so many things during the 10 hours I am on the computer each day that I do not remember in the afternoon what I have done in the morning.

Right now I am trying to get Android running in VMware Player - not obvious. And then I am working on this super duper tut of which I already made the 4th version. But it is not going to be as long as Kari's. Plus there is always a bunch of honey dews - have to edit her crafting pictures with Gimp all the time.

I hear you. I have shortcuts and folders all over my desktop for projects I'm investigating or working on.

I guess that's a geeks life. Life would be completely without stress without it.
