I have no system protection tab in System Properties box, hence I cannot create a restore point. Looking for the answer to get this tab enabled or reinstalled. I am logging in with Admin rights.

Hello Doc, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Check in your registry at the location below to see if you have a DisableSR DWORD value in the right pane of the SystemRestore key. If you do, then delete the DisableSR DWORD, and restart the PC to see if that does the trick. :)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\SystemRestore

When I drill down to the Windows NT folder, all that I have listed is a "Terminal Services" and a "Windows File Protection" folder. I do not have a "System Restore" as you describe. Does this tell you anything that might help resolve this?

That means that you don't have the group policy for this set.

The "System Restore" tab is also often removed by number of malwares. It would be a good idea to do a full scan of your system with an AV program. Windows Defender Offline is a good free option.

How would I go about setting the "Group Policy" for this or checking to see if it's disabled. I did a full system scan with Norton's and it did not turn anything up.
