Windows 8.1 system image will not burn to my backup drive

Hi all i can't get windows 8.1 system image to burn to my backup drive it says access denied for some reason or another, and i can't get it to burn to dvd-r ether any help here would be awesome as i want to do a image of my drive.

Try Macrium Reflect:

Macrium Reflect FREE Edition - Information and download

After imaging all your local drives on a usb drive add the Macrium boot option to startup.

I saved my image to a 32 GB usb.
You may or may not need a bigger one.

here is the image very odd it creates the folder as well could this be cause from it trying to back up my windows 8.1 EFI partition and recovery partition? should i tell it to just do the c drive and not those.

Try running DISM.

i dont see why DISM would affect a image to another drive on a side note it wont even do it to a DVD is very wired to say the least.

i did DISM and it worked it backed up to my external drive cant imagine what it fixed, but i tried a dvd and it still wont do it to them maybe it cant.
