My PC ignores all the power plan settings and hibernates after approximately 5 minutes without input. The computer also ignores active background processes.
My Windows Home Server backups are failing because the PC wakes up for the scheduled backup, but then ignores the process and goes to sleep in the middle of the backup. It also means that I cannot listen to internet radio or watch video unless I keep the PC awake with keyboard/mouse input.
This problem appears to have started after I installed the 8.1 update for Windows. I've tried adjusing all the power plan settings, creating a new power plan, enabling and disabling screen savers, etc. The computer simply ignores anything else and hibernates after 5 minutes.
BIOS is up to date, and everything was working OK before the 8.1 upgrade. Any suggestions gratefully received!
