Really high CPU usage

high cpu usage.png


I get really high cpu usage just by using the internet 33%+ and hangs the entire PC when I even try World of Warcraft as CPU reaches 100% thing is it only started today. The highest Process is service host local system (network restricted) (11)



My specs are

Win 8.1 Pro 64, Intel i7 2600k,Asus P8P67 dELUXE-b3 8GB RAM (2x4gb) g-skill ripjaw X, 1 x 128gb OZC Vertex 4, 1x 1tb Samsung Sata 1x Seagate 1TB,300GB Vraptor, antec 1200, corsair tx850, samsung dvd burner, 24" 1080p Asus

Did this just start? Any triggering events? Windows Updates recently? Installed any new programs? Do you have several programs running in a compatibility mode? FYI, you have 6 more processes running in that area of task manager than I so here's mine for comparison:

I also use the latest Start8 without issues so I guess that's not the culprit. BTW, is there any chance you are using Avast 2014 (Avast 9)?

No I just use the Windows Defender up to date doing a full scan now.

Um just remebered I also installed Samsung kis software to my pc as needed the driver as couldnt find a standalone driver for my Samsung GS4.

Have uninstalled it but left the usb driver for my phone.

Have uninstalled it but left the usb driver for my phone.

No it didnt :( only mentioned the samsung software as that was the only other softeare i recently added

Just did a Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth hope that fixed it is there any cpu and memory monitor software so I can monitor the cpu usage and one that records over time for a quad core?

I don't know of any but I don't think you'll really need to use any to identify if you still have an issue because you were able to find the issue without any extra software; correct? Good luck

I hope it did fix it as that process is not using anywhere need the amount of CPU it did as now using atm 0.3% and under still says (11). I just want to monitor it over the next couple of days to make sure. I am just thankful its a software issue :)
