    Win8.1Pro - Finally!!!

We originally suspected the hard drive - so, yes, I do think that there's a hard drive problem.
Follow Dell's instructions as they'll be the one's sending you replacement parts.
    Good luck!

I've had certain problem with my Windows 8 installation .
Let me summarize the entire scenario but before that below are my System Details .

    System :- Dell Inspiron 17R SE 7720 Laptop .
    O/S :- Windows 8.1 .

I formatted my system yesterday and installed Windows 8.1 via MSDN ISO . Installed Dell Drivers and a few programs like Norton 360 etc , after which i shutdown my system yesterday .

When i opened my system today , i was shocked to see Preparing automatic repair message on the Dell boot screen . It tried Automatic repair because it said that Windows was unable to boot properly . However , Automatic repair was unable to do anything .

After that i shutdown my system again and then again powered it on. This time it booted to Windows but took about 5 min to get to the password screen . After booting to Desktop mode , i tried to open chrome , task manager etc , but nothing opened , and the system was painfully slow up until 10 min . After which everything was normal .

Tried to open Event log and it also crashed .

I again restarted my system and this time it was lightening fast . Tried to shutdown and restart 2-3 times more , and it was fast all these times .

Can someone please help me understand what is causing this issue ? I've attached a dump of all my logs using SF Diagnostic tool .

    Please help .
First thing i did was install the SDK and performance tools and run a xbootmgr boot-time defrag (When i had a HDD Drive)
Went from 2-3 mins to about 10 secs

Np probs with SSD Drive 2-3 secs, My Bios takes longer to load??

    win 8.1

Sometimes that problem is because the correct hard drive is not on #1 boot device on your BIOS
    Goto BIOS (F2 or delete)
    Look into Bios Priority
If needed go to "Advanced Mode" - "Boot" - "Boot option Priorities"
Check on "Boot Option #1" if the correct hard drive is set
If your HD is not showing in "Boot Option #1" go to "Hard Drive BBS Priorities" and change the order
    Save and Enjoy

Windows 8 Disk Manager is painfully slow
Any ideas what could cause Disk Manager to lock-up every few seconds? All harddrives (two internal SATA, one external SATA) read healthy, and show no errors under CHKDSK. I have no SSD's, so it shouldn't be a compatibility issue. I did read about an issue with Mushkin and one of Intel's...
