CCleaner vs Advanced SystemCare: which one is more powerful in terms of system maintenance?

I have used Slimcleaner for a few months, and find it good but not that good for me, so I am looking for another program to have it replaced. I find those two on CNET. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Ccleaner...not only is it free but it's not bloated with all those other unnecessary utilities.

Advanced System care always gave me issues on various machines , it often required me to go into a clients machine periodically and make sure everything but the NEEDED portions of the program were toggled off.

I had issues where games wouldn't start as part of it injects itself into programs to make sure it's not a trojan , this however made the protection routines report that they were trying to hack the game and it refused to run...

If you're willing to go through and turn off all the options you don't need with a fine tooth comb then both are as good as each other.

Ccleaner has helped me over the years - never a hiccup.

But, imo, a lot of users seem to crash into it, with studying the inner workings. Ccleaner is hugely configurable. There are often items which you would prefer to keep - passwords etc. These can all be eliminated from the scan and removal. Ditto the included reg cleaner.

Use several different computers during a day, so specs are irrelevant.
Hello realray,

My inital advice is to avoid all external cleaners and maintenance programs as the are not generally required for the average user.

However, if you insist on using one, I offer these following comments regarding same:

Ccleaner:
I was one of the early "lab rats" for Pinform way back when and it always broke something with every point issue update. Most times, this is/was because people tried to run it with all options set to maximize the cleaning capability. Now, if you visit the Pinform forums, you'll see that this issue still exists today. So, if you are going to try it, I would strongly suggest you run it with minimum options set:

Advanced Care: Never used it.

Wise Disk Cleaner: I do use this on an infrequent basis but I usually only run it to see what needs to be cleaned. However, if and when I decide to use it, it has worked well because this program focuses on System Files only; whereas Ccleaner tries to incorporate "special considerations" for applications as well and that's where their concept is flawed because any change/update to the actual application (by the software vendor) can cause Ccleaner to malfunction based on the software's last known configuration. Most times, you'll discover this type of behavior when a button doesn't work in a specific software application and the first thought is to blame the software update for the issue; however, many times, the problem can actually be traced back to Ccleaner not updating their application cleaning options.

Wise Registry Cleaner: Again, if you must use one, I have found this to be the best of the lot.

I'm not going to provide any links because I really don't think you need the external stimulus. I would much rather see people better educate themselves on how to use the inherent maintenance tools to maintain their PCs. Good luck.

Search about any option you don't know so you don't end up deleting config files you don't want to.

These Issues only happen to games or not?

I've used ccleaner for a LONG time and love it...........I never set it to delete passwords though.....I too am confused about if we really need the other utilities that advanced system care offers........but I don't think ccleaner gets everything either..........for example...........I was having a driver problem.......I installed drivermax, then uninstalled it after I was finished...........yet, in the taskbar, where you can "customize" how items display, drivermax is one of the items listed............No clue why, because I completely uninstalled it. I HATE it when things I don't need are left behind somewhere on my system and I don't know how to get rid of them.

I've used CCleaner for years to clean the registry with no problems. I have been using Auslogics Registry Cleaner, also a free version, recently and it seems to find orphan entries a bit better.

Some will say to avoid them entirely but they have actually repaired problems for me in the past. Especially when it comes to graphics drivers.

As an average computer user, I don't want to mess up my PC just because of my ignorance on computer knowledge. And I always worry there would be something wrong if it runs slowly, then I will select all the clean items and results in a damaged pc. I think the problem is there are too much leftovers of the uninstalled programs in my system which I can't delete them completely.
