File History Not backing up some files..why?

Please see attchments...I think I need to know what service or process needs to be turned on. TIA

According to your error message, the most likely issue would be that your N drive is either encrytped or not formatted as NTFS. It obviously requires a non-encrypted NTFS formatted drive. If possible, reformat to NTFS and see what happens. Good luck.

When I look at the drive it shows a folder named File History. I think Win Optimizer may have stopped the service. I just don't know what win 8 calls the service,

Brink, read the tutorial and found it very helpful. I have three Flash drives plugged in the back of my desktop and i wanted to see if windows would treat them as one 24 g drive. I only have the option to choose one of them for file history. However, I did notice that file history has placed copies of some jpegs I had on one of the flash drives. There is a file history folder on two of them but one just has folder names and no files. Of the three, one of them shows nothing.

Ah, that explains the info message you got at the top then.
