Solved SFC

Hello
I ran SFC on both pcs and although I ran it 3 times, it still reported corruption.
I performed a system recovery with macrium and then SGFC was fine on both. I then updated Windows and three of my programs manually not with any programs.
After using a few days,SFC again reports corruption. All we do is surf conservatively and email.
What can an average skilled person do to rectify or locate the issues causing this. How important is this ?

It really depends on what SFC is saying cannot be repaired for whether it's worth further work on it or not. If you like, go ahead and use OPTION THREE in the tutorial below to create, then upload and attach your sfcdetails.txt file.
Usually when SFC cannot repair corrupted system files, you can use what's in the blue note boxes at the bottom of OPTION ONE or OPTION TWO in the same tutorial below to repair the component store with the DISM command, then try SFC again afterwards.

I am ecstatically happy to report that DISM corrected the issue in my desktop. Unless the laptop fails I will stop for now. If not I'll come back to see if Macrium will help again. I have a feeling it is a MS update that causes the trouble after an image recovery corrects the SFC issue.
I have pasted that tool in my learning folder and thank you very much. What a relief.

This situation is now a known problem with the update KB2821895. Anyone that has installed the update probably has the same situation. And DISM with the /RestoreHealth switch will repair the system....for most folks.

I have Windows 8 pro x 64 which I created with a dvd from the iso for $40.
I followed your link which took me to a page I tried to understand, but only partly.
There are downloads at the bottom of the page called packages. I clicked on the windows blue link and it told me to go to my control panel for windows updates.
Is this a service pack or is this a correction for the problem existing that I just corrected?

I am not sure what to do and could use some direction please.

With Windows 8, Microsoft introduced update rollups. The bottom line: use Windows Update, unless you have a compelling reason not to use it.

P.S. KB2821895 is not a part of the rollup, actually. But the bottom line is the same :)
