Hi,

Do you use programs like Tune Up Utilities that help to maintain your system and keep it running well?

I use Tune Up Utilities 2013 that has a registry cleaner, Fix problems with windows etc

I was wondering do these type of programs really work? and are they worth buying?

In Windows 8, I've yet to really need a tuner utility at all. Automatic Maintenance seems to be taking care of that. That will probably change as time goes on however, I'll have to see. So far, I haven't actually used just ONE install of Windows 8 for over like six months I'd say. This is what happens when you use development software builds that got updated every six months....

Anyways, back with that ancient obtuse Windows 7, I did use a registry cleaner that had a registry defragmenter feature (this is the MAIN way how performance gets restored, deleting invalid registry entries doesn't do much) that REALLY did bring performance back to pretty much day one responsiveness. Usually when someone whom I installed 7 on their PC came up to me and said their PC was running slow, I ran disk defrag and the registry cleaner, ran like a champ.
