Running 32-bit but can run 64-bit

    Hi Guys,

I am running Windows 8 Professional (32-Bit) - however, since I have recently purchased a few servers; I need to install VM's via VMWare Workstation to run the Windows Server 2008/2012 R2.

    I have a 64-bit capable processor, but I am running 32-bit.
Is there anyway that I can upgrade this without losing any programs or data?

    Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately no. It is not an "upgrade" when you go from 32 to 64 bits or visa versa. You must reinstall Windows and all the programs, etc.

Of course you must backup your data before the reinstall.

There is more of a difference between a 32 bit OS and a 64 bit OS than just 32 bits. Internally they are really very different. Microsoft has never supported an upgrade from a 32 bit to 64 bit OS. A clean install of the OS and all applications is required.

Running out of memory when running overnight.
First let me say, I rarely leave my 8.1 system running all night as I generally switch off before bed. On the FEW occasions I leave the system running all night I always get the "Your computer is low on memory" warning. For instance, yesterday my software RAID mirror was "Re-synchronizing"...

Anyone still running Vanilla 8?
Just out of curiosity, I was wondering how many people have not updated to 8.1? And if not, why? My laptop is running 8.1, yet due to OS instability caused by sound card drivers with 8.1 (and no 8.1 driver update available) my Desktop is still only vanilla 8. However since I have several...

My dad thinks I'm running a VPN and somehow under windows folder is a folder called "vroot" or "v root" or "v-root" something along those lines. What is that folder and how did it get under there? The laptop is a HP. He said it had my files under there. How can one find if there is a VPN on there...

SUPERAnti Spyware - it keeps running and running

W8 Installed & Running
For Info: I just completed the clean install of W8 Pro and had no problems. From start to finish it took 1 hour and about 1/2 hour to install updates (10). One thing I noticed after doing updates is that the restart runs slower than W7. One other item is Hotmail is not included on the top of...
