unintended wakeup from standby

Hello,

my pc wakes up from standby although it is not meant to.

In other posts the culprit has been identified as a cordless mouse. This is not my case.

1. powercfg /lastwake provides no clue as to the source of activation
2. powercfg /devicequery wake_armed returns "none". I have disabled everything that has this option - keyboard, mouse, usb.
3. it happens even if I remove the cordless mouse and keyboard receiver stick from the USB slot - on a keyboard- and mouseless system.
4. in BIOS the WOL option is deactivated. The pc is connected to the router via cable.
5. my network adapter (Intel 82578DC) is not allowed to wake up the system (the option "magic packet can activate the system" however cannot be de-selected, not even when logged in as administrator). See attached pic.
6. it makes no difference whether I send the pc to stand-by via a key press or a link to C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe /h

This behaviour happens sporadically, all is normal over many months, then it starts happening after 10-15 mins of standby, or after a few hours, then again normal for a day or so, and all over again.

It is utterly unnerving, my research in the net has produced nothing of real help, perhaps someone has a new idea?

Thanks,
Steinspecht
