feels very sluggish - is this right?

    Hey all,

I am slowly getting used to the new Windows 8 layout and in particular the whole user experience however the overall speed of my system feels very sluggish when perhaps it shouldn't ?

Is there anyway to see what is causing my PC to act to slowly and highlight ways that it can be boosted..

My hardware is fairly modern and consists of a i7 quad core processor, 8GB DDR3 RAM and a 750GB Hard Drive.

    Many thanks

Any installed software like antivirus or anything like that ? open task manager and watch cpu/ram/hdd usage; open event viewer -> windows logs -> system, and search for errors, read them all and analyze, search google for solutions, if need.

One SSD feels faster than two SSDs in Raid 0 for OS.
Has anyone experienced this? I'm on a Z77 chipset board with ROM 11+ and TRIM enabled (I've checked and TRIM is working) yet Windows 8 feels more sluggish installed in two Samsung 840 SSDs on RAID 0 than in a single one. Even though benchmarks with CrystalDiskMark say differently (the raid 0 array...

W8 x-86 blazingly fast -- W8 x-64 -- a bit sluggish
Hi all I've tried out BOTH versions of W8 on a fairly modest laptop with 4 GB RAM -- my observations are that W8 x-86 beats W7 hands down for boot speed and performance but W8 x-64 (the 64 bit version) still isn't quite ready for prime time yet --it seems a lot more sluggish and a few programs...
