Very slow after booting

Hi all,
I've installed windows 8 a couple of weeks ago, a lately I'm kinda dissapointed with the booting process. When the computer boots and automatically logs on, a lot of programs are not responding. I can click on IE10 but nothing happens. I have steam trying to update but the windows says "is not responding". WMP12 opens but thats it, also not responding. Windows explorer has no problem whatsoever. By this it looks like anything that needs some internet connection is waiting for something to finish. On the other hand, I learned today that Firefox is not affected.
I tried to disable every program that starts with Windows through taskmanager, it didn't help. I checked the logs for any information about startup (applications & services -> microsoft -> windows -> diagnostics & performance) but there is nothing here but entries about booting and shutting down.
Is there somewhere else I can look or something to find out what is taking so long?

I had this problem. Are you shutting down your system completely or placing it in hibernate mode? If you're placing it in hibernation then switch to shutting it down and rebooting it cold. I found this fixed my problem.

I noticed it always went to sleep, even though i clicked shutdown. I turned off the fast start thingy so it boots cold. It hasn't solved my problem unfortunately. I'll check later today to make sure the booting is correct.
