Which imaging apps support UEFI, GPT and Secure Boot?

I have a paid for version of Acronis True Image Home 2010 that I have used for years with my Windows 7 box and it's been good.

I've also used Macrium Reflect Free, and today I tend to use AOMEI ddata backuper as it's free for personal and commercial use.

I have a new Dell laptop (with Windows 8), and thus far I have disabled the UEFI boot options and Secure Boot and use a classic setup. However, if I wanted to have a play with these other options to see what impact they would have on system performance, does anybody here know which of these drive imaging software packages would work?

I also have a desktop at work with all of these options (and that's likely where I will experiment). On that box, it's simple to drop in a test hard drive and whack away until I get it working. My laptop has an msata drive and I don't have any spares of these drives lying around.

I would look for a 3rd party Partitioning,Backup & Cloning software, which fully supports Windows 8, uEFI, GPT & Secure Boot.
Which is signed by Microsoft.

The only two 3rd party software that I know of, that fully supports Windows 8 is PARAGON 12 & SSR Desktop Edition, both are signed by Microsoft .

Paragon 12 & SSR have support for Windows 8 uEFI, GPT & Secure Boot.

PARAGON Software Group - partition manager, drive backup, hard disk partitioning

or could consider SSR Desktop Edition

Thank you very much for your response.

I've found through testing that AOMEI data backuper seems to be working just fine. I rebuilt my machine as Windows 8 UEFI boot today with Secure Boot and such. I was able to backup and restore my GPT partitions with this software.

Does this include the Paragon Free Backup and Recovery 2012? It says "Full Windows 8 Support" here but I'm expecting it doesn't meet all the criteria you mention above?

The paragon free version doesn't include the boot correct feature. It also doesn't have any built in method of creating winpe media - tho you do get Linux based recovery media - that won't support secure boot (yet).

It shouldn't be a problem to use on win 8.

Not tried Paragon Free Backup and Recovery 2012, I use Paragon 12 paid for.

The Paragon 12 partition free only supports MBR HDD's.

I thought the last Macrium release (5.1) supports these formats. But you have to make a new WinPE CD. You can get the .iso from my Skydrive.

Ther will be B&R free 2013 soon. It appeared very briefly - now it has gone again.

Perhaps they are adding extra features.

The Paragon stuff is excellent. Particularly the paid versions. I have several - lost count how many. Mostly I use the HDM12 Pro.

Theo - if you haven't checked your account recently, there is now another version of bmb - called rmb - it is just for making flash winpe recovery media.

I make my own pe - so I don't need those - very useful for those who don't know how/can't be bothered to do it themselves.

Not the version that I used. I just disabled Secure Boot, did what I needed to do and then re-enabled Secure Boot.

Looks like Macrium release (5.1) is OK for full support. Using WinPE4.

The only thing that I don't like about Macrium is that it's not technically free for commercial business use and I use this laptop at work. That's what I like about Aomei..it's licensed for business use too.

I might have a go at cobbling something together which make one for you. It should be fine with secure boot.

I will try newest aomei tomorrow. My current winpe disk from them had to boot in legacy mode. Maybe that changed in version 1.1.

I have a HP G6-2213sa laptop. If I bought Paragon Backup & recovery 12 Home would I then be able to make a bootable disc?
I tried Acronis and couldn't get it to boot.

No I didn't make the recovery discs. Why do I have to do the manufacturers recovery discs if Paragon will do it?
