Solved Is there a way to stop Windows 8 from absorbing free RAM?

I have 8 GB machine, 64 bit Windows 8 pro.

Windows 8 instantly uses up 45% after cold boot. There are some startup I know, but when added together there's no way they're taking up that so much space in RAM.

By default, Windows 8 is designed to make the most use out of available RAM (memory) by loading what it thinks you may need in advanced using superfetch.

This is normal, and will not hurt performance at all. In fact it can help improver performance.

There's an old saying that unused memory is wasted memory.
