I have Windows 7 on my 500 GB HDD which never had any issues
Recently I installed Windows 8 on a new Crucial M4 SSD and I noticed issues with Windows 8 which would occur maybe twice a week until I restarted.
I notice it once a website starts taking a while to load, I attempt Ctrl + Alt + Delete to confirm if it's the system and sure enough trying to open task manager takes a couple of minutes. I don't notice anything out of the ordinary with system usage. A restart will take over 2 minutes to fully take effect, once I do it's back to a normal for a couple of days.
At first I thought it was probably Windows update related so I disabled anything automatic regarding them but still noticed issues. I'm going to start keeping track of the frequency of these freezes.
After browsing some of the posts here I began to suspect maybe it was the M4 (even though I have the latest firmware, I also have the most recent bios firmware) but after upgrading the wife's all in one to Windows 8, she herself just had a similar moment with this lag/stutter/freezing. There's no BSOD but it becomes insufferable to use the computer until it's rebooted.
I just attempted the "sfc /scannow" command which found a corruption, hopefully this will resolve the issue so I'll keep this thread posted. I'm not able to access the log file though, it says access is denied.
update: And it's happening again today (one day later)
update: Again today 1/26 both computers
