Check Disk taking a long time

Hi

I tried to run Check Disk in W8 but it did not complete saying it could not complete the scan, so I tried to run Chksdk from the CMD prompt, I got a message that could run Chkdsk and repair errors on the next boot, I select Y
and the scan started on the next re-boot.

It went okay until 27% completed, now it has been on 27% complete for three hours.

Is this an indication of a problem or should I leave it running?

Thanks

Daniel

Empty trash with with Disk Cleanup in C:\ Properties.
Run Ccleaner to remove more crap.
Do full scan with AdAware.
Defragment.

Run sfc /scannow in CMD prompt with Administrator privileges.
Do a boot scan with Avast or AVG or whatever.

Run chkdisk now.

It MIGHT help.

Have the SAME problem Arghhh How many days for you, mine is over 24 hours, and I think it is stuck for good, but I don't understand where the solution for this at?

Can't seem to find anything that will solve this, at all!
