Hi there
trying to backup a W8 Enterprise image to a USB3 external drive with Free Macrium
I'm moving away from Acronis since latest versions (2012 / 2013) have too many probs and the whole licensing system gets totally hosed up. -- Acronis is beginning to get like NERO -- used to have excellent software --then they BLOATED it with "Feature itus".
I thought I'd give Macrium a whirl - but if I can't get the Free version to work I'm not buying the full product.
keep getting this error screenshot enc.
I'm currently back to Acronis 2011 (the last sensible version, versions 2012 and 2013 are JUNK)
It's OK for laptop but I'll need a decent backup that supports RAID stuff. At least Acronis 2011 allows backup to USB3 devices - and on the laptop I'm not using UEFI or GPT so this will do for the moment.
Some type of software they should just leave alone -- we don't want MORE FEATURES -- just add support to new devices (e.g USB 3) when a release needs to be upgraded.
I've just been reading about Terabytes Image for windows -- looks like a cheap hassle free solution and you get a 30 day trial . Anybody else used it.
