3.79 gig usable from 4 gig installed memory!

Hi ;I have an asus laptop and I clean installed windows 8 pro x64...in pc info it says 4.00 gig memory(3.79 usable)...that it wasn't like this before on my last windows 7 sp1 x64...what should I do now?...
PS: in my bios there is no option named memory remapping or etc.

    Windows 8 VM is install on his own SSD.
Is there any way to enable memory remappin inside windows?...my bios is updated but still there is no option for GPU or Memory..!!!

Some of your RAM is being used by your system for video, BIOS "shadowing", reserved memory, etc...It;s motherboard, chipset and BIOS dependent...

"azasadny" is correct. The system is using that 'missing' memory for the onboard graphics chip and possibly other things like caching the BIOS into memory.

Look at the docs regarding BIOS options, every motherboard has some common options and some have very specific options that will give you better performance or lower power usage (laptops). Only make one change at a time...Good luck!
