hello all. this is my first post here but i tried looking for solutions before spamming. i installed win 8 pro a few weeks ago and have been experiencing some issues which could be all related.

1) when going to sleep, sometimes the pc will stay on full power it looks like and not shut off. the monitors will shut off. if i try to turn it back on i get a black screen on monitor 1 and monitor 2 gets no signal. i can see my cursor moving around, but nothing happens. i have to force a shut down and boot back up. i get system errors saying that the system was trying to boot from an unexpected shut down, but i pressed sleep.
NOTE: the times when it does fully go to sleep, when i press something to turn back on, everything clicks on as expected, but the monitors say no signal. this happens 90% of the time. other times it will sleep fine, and wake up fine.

2) every time i restart the machine, the windows 8 bootloader gets stuck at the windows logo. this never happens from a cold boot.

i have all up to date drivers i could find as far as i know. i had some similar issues in win7 where sometimes the login screen would just stay black. here are my specs:
alienware aurora a3
intel i7 2600
nvidia geforce 590 gtx
8gb ddr3 1333mhz RAM

this is a clean install, and i have installed multiple times from multiple disks. thanks in advance for any help.
