Solved "Save As" Constantly Hanging

Most every time I use a "Save As" screen, it hangs (not responding) for close to a minute or two before it recovers and lets me continue. Sometimes it hangs when it initially launches, other times when I try to navigate somewhere, like my Desktop. After it recovers, I don't have the problem for another little while. Never had this problem with Win7. Nothing too peculiar either in my drives.

It's been doing this pretty much straight out of the "box".

Any ideas on where I could check--nothing outstanding in my event viewer? When chrome hangs it's marking some gupdate entries, and when word hangs, it logs a few "Office Software Protection Platform Service" entries. My copy is legit and activated. Anyone else with this problem? It has happened in Google Chrome, MS Word so far, but I bet it's not limited to just those two programs since they don't have much in common.

I removed one of my network-mapped drives and it has cleared up the issue so far. Will wait to see if it re-surfaces.

That fixed the issue. Apparently Windows 8 didn't like that disconnected network drive. I have other disconnected network drives, but that one in particular was a little finicky.
