WLAN AutoConfig Service won't run after Updates Installed

My laptop was running fine but I had a lot of backdated Microsoft Updates that I had not installed. I just installed all the important updates and now I cannot connect to any wireless networks:

1. When I select Network Connections from the system tray only my wired connection shows. No Wireless networks are listed.
2. In Control Panel my Wi-Fi connection (Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230) shows as Not Connected.
3. Selecting Properties, Configure, General shows the Device is working properly and the Driver Version 15.10.3.2 is the most up-to-date.
4. Right Click and Connect again just shows my wired connection and does not detect any Wireless networks.
5. Right Click and Diagnose gives "The Windows Wireless Service is not running on this computer"
6. Run Repairs as Administrator gives the same message with Not Fixed.
7. Running Services.msc shows WLAN AutoConfig is set up to run automatically but is not actually running.
8. Trying to start the service manually in the services window gives Error 193: 0xc1 and it doesn't run.

As I said, everything was working fine until I installed all the Windows Updates from the Microsoft Updates window. My wired connection works fine but I just cannot get WLAN AutoConfig to run and so my wi-fi connection won't work.

Any advice greatly received.

Many thanks.

George
